MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL MEMBERS MEETING OF OREGON WASHINGTON COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION MANAGERS (OWCAM) HELD ON JUNE 10, 2008, AT THE HOLIDAY INN DOWNTOWN, PORTLAND OR.

Julia Neufeld, Executive Administrator
ABSENT: David Hummel, Vice-President
Members Present: AS INDICATED ON SIGN-IN SHEET ATTACHED TO THE ORIGINAL MINUTES.
I. CALL TO ORDER
Steve Brodehl called the meeting to order at 12:10 P.M.
II. PROOF OF NOTICE
Lisa Campbell reported that the annual notice and proxy was sent to all members on May 15, 2008 via email.
III. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MINUTES
Minutes will be posted on website and approved at the next Annual members meeting.
IV. INTRODUCTION OF BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Steve introduced the following Board Members:
Steve Barber, Assistant Treasurer. He has been working hard with Julia collecting all historical data and consolidating it under one format.
David Hummel, ViceÐPresident, could not attend due to a family emergency.
Lisa Campbell, Secretary. He thanked her for all the hard work that she has done for the organization.
Leanne Sasser, Treasurer. She agreed to fill the vacancy and was appointed to the Board. Steve thanked Leanne for her tremendous input to the Board.
Steve Brodehl, President. Steve introduced himself and stated that his term expired today.
V. OFFICER REPORTS
1. Treasurer Ð Steve Barber overviewed details of the finances of OWCAM. Members can request a copy of the report by emailing Julia Neufeld.
2. President Ð Steve spoke about the committees and that each Board member is a liaison to each committee.
VI. COMMITTEE REPORTS
1. Program Committee ÐLeanne Sasser talked about having more consistency within the committee and introduced the Chairperson, Pat Moore. Pat reported their goal was to increase quality of education for the managers. They have put a plan in place for the next year so managers can plan accordingly and referred to the handouts placed on each table. Pat thanked the committee members for a wonderful job this year.
2. Marketing, Media, Communications Ð Steve Barber introduced Chairperson, Jay Zarnekee. Jay reported that the committee has had some difficulty getting together but looking forward to addressing different geographical areas to increase membership. He introduced and thanked each committee member and stated that the committee will meet more often to enhance OWCAM.
3. Educational Certification Committee Report Ð Steve Brodehl introduced Chairperson, Cheryl Brendle. Cheryl introduced the committee members and recognized Julia Balestreri, David Hummel, and herself as members who started on this committee in 2005. She overviewed the coursework and testing material. She thanked the committee for their hard work on this project.
4. Legal & Legislation Ð Steve Brodehl introduced Chairperson, Greg Coxey. Greg reported that next year the committee will be more involved with legislature but they did take a ÒwatchdogÓ approach to the Washington Legislature this year. OWCAM has a lobbyist on board who will be very helpful with HOA related proposed bills.
Greg Burgess revealed pictures of the 2008 Expo in a fabulous presentation.
5. Expo Committee Ð Lisa Campbell introduced Chairperson, Greg Burgess and thanked him and the committee for their hard work on the 2008 Expo. Greg talked about the committee goals: increasing affiliate membership, quality education, and increasing attending members. The committee is meeting after the annual meeting to get a jumpstart on the 2009 Expo. He introduced the committee members and thanked them for all their hard work and dedication on making the 2008 Expo successful. He also thanked all the affiliate members who participated in making this a successful event.
Steve Brodehl commends all the volunteers.
Steve introduced Julia Neufeld as the Executive Administrator. She is an integral part of building an infrastructure that OWCAM can grow on.
VII. ELECTION OF DIRECTORS
Steve asked for volunteers to count ballots. Dane Wood and Nancy LaVoie volunteered.
Nominated to run for election to the Board were the following members. Each was introduced and they spoke on why they would like to serve on the Board:

¯ Leanne Sasser, Peters & Company
¯ Julie Balestreri, Community Association Partners

Upon motion made by Diane Wood, seconded by Pat Moore, and unanimously carried, nominations were closed and members cast their ballot.
Election Results - Members cast their ballots and elect Steve Brodehl and Leanne Sasser to the Board. They each will serve a two year term.

There being no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 1:20 PM.
